Inspection questions homeowners ask.
Answers to questions Ohio homeowners ask before scheduling an inspection.
How big does hail need to be to damage a roof?+
1-inch hail (quarter-sized) can damage asphalt shingles. 1.25-inch and up almost always causes damage that qualifies for a claim.
What does hail damage look like on shingles?+
Round dark spots where granules have been knocked off, exposing the asphalt mat. From the ground, you often can't see it — granule loss in your gutters is a tell.
Can I see hail damage from the ground?+
Sometimes — look at metal soft spots like gutters, downspouts, vents, and AC fins. But shingle damage usually requires a roof-level inspection.
How long do I have to file a hail damage claim?+
Most Ohio carriers require claims within 12 months of the storm. The earlier you file, the easier the claim.
Not filing a claim? You still have options.
Not every roof qualifies for an insurance claim — and that’s okay. We’ll give you an honest inspection and transparent pricing so you can move forward with confidence.
